Usage and indications:
Flamotal is indicated for the relief of the signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis.
Flamotal is indicated for the relief of mild to moderate pain such as dental and post-operative pain & its antipyretic activity is effective in reducing fever.
Flamotal is also indicated for the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea.
Dosage and method of administration:
One suppository to be inserted well in the rectum three times daily.
The maximum daily dose shouldn’t exceed 3200mg.
Widespread use of Ibuprofen has demonstrated that it is well tolerated. Adverse effects reported include dyspepsia, gastrointestinal intolerance and bleeding, skin rashes of various types, and less frequently thrombocytopenia has occurred.
Toxic amblyopia has occurred very rarely but in those cases reported, the patient recovered on cessation of treatment.
Warnings and precautions:
Flamotal is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Ibuprofen.
Flamotal should not be given to patients with active or sever peptic ulceration.
Flamotal should not be given to patients who have experienced asthma, urticaria, or allergic-type - reactions after taking aspirin or other NSAIDs. Severe, rarely fatal, anaphylactic-like reactions to NSA IDs have been reported in such patients. Flamotal tablets are contraindicated for the treatment of peri-operative pain in the setting of coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. Use of Flamotal during pregnancy should, if, possible, be avoided.
